Good Afternoon/Morning/Evening!

At launch, as many of you know, we restricted each member to only one alt character in the guild. This was for two reasons:

During the beta, it was generally understood that having inactive members on your guild roster negatively affected your ability to level a guild. This meant that the more alts we had, the slower we would level.
The guild notes feature was removed shortly before launch, but was promised to be returned soon. This made knowing which toons were whose, and which were alts and mains, VERY difficult.

Well, times have changed. First of all, it has now been stated by a developer that having inactive characters in your guild in no way affects your ability to level. Second, the guild notes feature is still not back, and we are no longer going to make everyone wait.

We know some people have multiple alts, and we have been removing one alt to let another one in fairly often. This is just a hassle for all involved, and one that we don't need to have.

The Bottom Line
There is no longer a restriction on the number of ACTIVE alts you may have in the guild. In other words, if you play an alt, you can guild it. We just ask that you self-identify alts you are no longer playing, and remove them from the guild as needed.

The Process
Part of this change has required that we create a new rank for alts, just so we can reliably keep track of our actual membership numbers. Some of the leadership went through the other day and assigned characters where we thought they went, but lots of them were little more than educated guesses. So, we need your help! When you login, please check and make sure that your main character is at Soldier rank, and that any of your alts are at the Alt rank. There is no permission's difference, it only affects our ability to know who is who.

One final note
All recruits as of two days ago are now soldiers. Grats :)
