Account hacked

At 3:57 this morning, my WoW password was changed, upon doing virus scans that have come up clean and doing a PW recovery I log in to find that all my characters have been stripped. All this I can deal with, but .....

My one lowbie alt toon that was in SoIP had full bank access, and I think you know where I'm going with this.... I feel disgusted just typing it. It's all gone, I really hope people have taken anything out of there that had any worth.

I am very sorry, I have opened up a ticket and had it responded to it, so I hope they can replace anything in the bank taken.

I know it's been said time and time again, keep your computer on lockdown!!!! I havent figured out the source of the hack since I'm showing clean on the virus scan.

Once again, I can't begin to tell you how sorry I am, my itmes mean nothing, it's the GB I'm concerned about.

Man, I'm sorry they did this to you and Shadow. It makes me sick when I hear about this stuff and especially when it happens to an Iron. Lets just hope Blizz can replace most or all of it and hope you find what caused it.

Yep, the bank is empty. I feel worse about your toons and stuff than I do about the bank though. The good news about the bank is that there is a log list of everything in it that was withdrawn, Blizz should be able to replace all that. I hope they can do the same for your toons stuff and money.

we have a fully stocked vault on the alliance side.
i am sure our officer cadre would be happy to help Shadows with anything u need.

we have had several hacks, but, not on our vault yet.
sure hope we get that last tab before it happens. its been tough getting to the 5k for it.

I was just reading this post and I wanted to let you know about a friend of mine that quit playing WoW about 2 yrs ago. All of a sudden he popped back on my friends list as active, I messaged him and was not responded too. Long story short. His account was hacked WHILE cancelled and he didn't even own a computer when I phoned him to lt him know he was hacked.

I have no idea how they can hack like this but they did it without having any keylogger/access to his computer which died and is sitting in a closet in his house. Never mind how they hacked a cancelled account. Nice thing was they lvl him to 70 in like 2 wks and had a wack of gold when it was restored by blizz lol. It was a gold farming hack obviously but I am still baffled as to how they did it. /shrug

Well some people don't have very secure passwords that are easy to guess. So just make sure when you are making passwords that they have nothing to do with your logon name or with the game in general. It really needs to be something out of the blue and I would recommend some alphanumeric characters as well. Good luck teeks!
