There has been a few questions from people on the specialization issue so I figured I'd post a few notes I made for myself for tailoring.

@350 any tailor can pick up any of the 3 specialization from Lower City. You will have to first complete a quest, which will unlock the specialty. Choose your specialty with some care because it will cost 150g to change specialization and I hear it will undo any specialty specific skills you have attained so far.

The same trainers who give out the quests for specialization will sell you their respective specialty-type recipes for cloth: Primal Mooncloth, Shadowcloth, and Spellcloth - each of which have a 4 day cooldown. While any tailor above 350 can make any of the 3 types of cloth, a specialized tailor will receive 2 pieces of cloth for every cooldown burn.

Also, each specialization comes with a craftable bop purple set (shoulders, chest, and feet). Note that only a tailor that is currently subscribed to the particular specialty can wear the set. That is, if you are mooncloth specialization, you cannot wear the shadow embrace set even if you own it.

3 Specializations:

Primal Mooncloth Tailoring
- Specifically made for HEALERS
- Can craft and wear Primal Mooncloth Set
- Total materials involved in constructing the set, assuming Mooncloth specialty, is:
8x [Netherweb Spider Silk]
38x [Primal Life]
26x [Primal Mooncloth]

-Each Primal Mooncloth will require (assuming specialty):
13x [Primal Water]
13x [Primal Life]
13x [Bolt of Imbued Netherweave]26x [Arcane Dust]
39x [Bolt of Netherweave] (which is 234x [Netherweave Cloth])

Shadowcloth Tailoring
- For frost mages, shadow priests, warlocks
- Can craft and wear Shadow's Embrace
- Total materials involved in constructing the set, assuming Shadowcloth specialty, is:
8x [Netherweb Spider Silk]
38x [Primal Water]
26x [Shadowcloth]

-Each Shadowcloth will require (assuming specialty):
13x [Primal Fire]
13x [Primal Shadow]
13x [Bolt of Imbued Netherweave]26x [Arcane Dust]
39x [Bolt of Netherweave] (which is 234x [Netherweave Cloth])

Spellcloth Tailoring
- For fire mages and fire-destro locks
- Can craft and wear Wrath of Spellfire
- Total materials involved in constructing the set, assuming Spellcloth specialty, is:
8x [Netherweb Spider Silk]
38x [Primal Fire]
26x [Spellcloth]

-Each Spellcloth will require (assuming specialty):
13x [Primal Fire]
13x [Primal Mana]
13x [Bolt of Imbued Netherweave]26x [Arcane Dust]
39x [Bolt of Netherweave] (which is 234x [Netherweave Cloth])

To craft each of the 3 types of cloth, you have to go to its designated crafting location.
- Mooncloth requires moonwell; closest moonwell in Shattrath is in Cenarion Refuge. When you craft this you will get a buff. I think it was an MP5 buff - but i'm not certain.
- Shadowcloth requires shadow altar in Shadowmoon Valley. You get a stam buff.
- Spellfire requires Netherstorm (anywhere in Netherstorm). Instead of a buff, a level 70 elemental spawns on you. But when it dies it drops motes of fire and mana.

If you are wanting to choose a tailoring specialty for gold and not to craft your own gear, Spellcloth will get you most money.
- 1 spellcloth will range from 45g - 100g. If you time it right, 80g spellcloth will sell instantly.
- 1 shadowcloth will range from 40g-55g.
- 1 mooncloth will go for about 38g-45g.

If you are wanting to buy cooldown (not mats) from specialist, the following seems to be the going price:
- spellcloth CD: ~15g
- shadowcloth CD: ~10g
- mooncloth CD: ... I am not certain on this. But I've seen it announced at around 8-10g

If you have already made your gear and you want to make the most money out of your tailoring:
- if you are a mooncloth specialist either make your cloth then trade them for spellcloth (some people do this!) and sell them for twice the price on AH
- if you are a shadowcloth specialist: Make and sell!
- if you are a spellcloth specialist ... well you are in luck. they are the most expensive specialty cloth around. I haven't done calculations on this, but I'm assuming making cloth and selling em on AH (at the right timing) will rake in some good gold.

*edit on mooncloth specialty: if you want to make money out of it swap it with spellcloth and sell that, or go craft some mooncloth bags. Though the gold profit for everything you had to go through to make the darn thing isn't exactly in par with how much it is sold for in AH, they sell quite well, I hear.

*edit: "Each Xcloth will require" -> "Xcloth crafting will require" Those mats aren't for 1. They are for all Xcloth you need for the set.

Also, it would be nice for me to be able to edit my own messages...
