Focus-Cast macro

Note: you can replace anything I put between << >> with cast of your choice.

main macro:

/clearfocus [target=focus,dead]
/clearfocus [target=focus,noexists]
/focus [target=focus,noexists] target
/clearfocus [target=focus,noharm]
/cast [target=focus,exists] <<Shackle Undead>>

support macro 1:

/clearfocus
/focus

support macro 2:

/clearfocus

How it works:
When this macro is used, the focus (if not previously set on still existing and alive being) will set on your current target. Then you can switch targets and work on those. But whenever this macro is clicked again, the cast (in this case, shackle) will renew itself on the object that has the focus.

So... in an instance: a priest casts shackle using this macro. The priest can go on dpsing something else. Every once in a while the priest will reclick the macro to keep the shackled being shackled.

The support macro 1 will reset focus to whatever you are currently targetting. The support macro 2 will clear all focus.

This will work for any cc over time: shackle, sheep, banish, fear...

This sounds very useful and will be trying it out very soon!

Thanks, I've been looking for something like this ... I'm not the best macro writer so ... thanks again.

was just browsing the forums and stumbled across this variation:

main difference being is that you can use SHIFT to clear and reset your focus.

#show Polymorph
/clearfocus [modifier:shift]
/focus [target=focus,noexists]; [target=focus,dead]
/clearfocus [target=focus,help]
/cast [target=focus,exists,harm] Polymorph; Polymorph

best polymorph macro period

sets you target as focus and polymorphs it

then if you press the button again it polymorphs the focus

if you press shift and the button it clears your focus allowing you to poly a new target

yup
and the difference also is if that if the target is friendly the first code kicks the focus off the target. I added that for my own foolproofing.

I use this macro since I am well....a mount junkie!

/castrandom [modifier: shift] <insert flying mount here> ; <ground mount #1> , <#2> .....

This makes it so if you shift click on the button for in the outlands you can summon your flying mount. If your in a major city like Org you can just click it and it will randomly choose a mount between my raptor, kodo, horse, chicken or wolf. Very cool and puts variety in my game play. On a side note...don't use the <> in the actual macro.

O and I also find this very helpful on my druid....I use this macro for shape shift forms....

/cast [modifier: shift] bear form; [modifier: ctrl] cat form; [modifier: alt] swim form; travel form

The last ability in the macro will always be the ability you use when you simply click the button with no modifier buttons.

Enjoy :D

Here's one that I find particularly useful for avoiding fears as a warrior:

/castsequence reset=5 Berserker Stance, Berserker Rage, Defensive Stance, Berserker Rage

1st click switches to berserker stance, 2nd click pops berserker rage, 3rd click switches back to defensive stance.
A 4th click intentionally fails so that you don't end up in berserker stance if you click it too many times.
