Alterac Valley will see a few very significant improvements in the next patch and we wanted to share the details of what we have planned.

The first change will be to move the Horde's starting tunnel back to a more equal distance from the first objectives, which will help evenly distance the starting points for each side across the terrain when the battle commences.

In addition, the General and Warmasters for each faction will receive a stacking buff from each other that boosts their health and damage. The more of them that are still in the battleground, the more dangerous they will all be. This will put a greater focus on destroying (and defending!) the towers that remove the Warmasters as players work toward defeating the appropriate General and conquering the land.

Also Balinda Stonehearth has been studying her spellbooks to become a more challenging opponent to the Horde and will do more damage with her spells. The additional health we recently added to Balinda and General Vanndar Stormpike will no longer be needed with these improvements and will be changed back to their previous amounts with the patch.

With these improvements teamwork and strategy will be more important than ever from beginning to end as the Alliance and Horde battle for victory in Alterac Valley. We'll see you on the battlefield.

so now it will take 10 instead of 4 to kill balinda... hope they plan on increasing the number of tickets too.. last 10 AV's ive been in we win by 400+ tickets to allies 0, havent killed vandar for a while either cause tickets run out too fast for allies.

I've been able to win my fair share of allianace AVs. Just as long as the horde does not leave 10-15 defenders at their home camp.

If your advance group gets wiped out before capturing a closer GY you will be in for a long fight.

Yeah, they really need to increase the penalty for AFKers.

If it gets any more "level" I'm going to fall off the edge.

AV is about hte only BG that the alliance seems to be be able to win on a regular basis. It relaly blows when teh daily is anything else. And the icecrown alliance only get to reliable benefit from double points only if AV is the week-end bg...

I've had good results in EotS with PvE gear and only a 5 man group that's willing to move together and not just fight for the flag.

Although, I think they increased the flag reward, taking away the one decent strategy left for the non-career PvPers.

I've only been doing BGs since last weekend (need to get Mac his spell damage Mace) but so far I've got 18 EotS marks and only once was that from a victory.

Almost everyone I've been in has a few shouting to leave the flag and get another base - while the horde happily defend their two bases and run flag after flag for the win :)

Just 20K more honour and a few more marks then I can get back to ignoring pvp again :)

That's why I mentioned a group of 5. On EotS weekends, we'd get a guild group together (in Ordo Tenebrae) and join as a party of 5. Generally, as the largest group going, our party leader would end up being BG leader.

We'd coordinate on TS and just move as a group, always taking that 3rd base while everyone else fought for the flag. If we lost one, we'd go take a different one. We'd win maybe 80% of the time doing that. You do have to remember to move together and, even if in a questionable spot, you have to commit to getting to the fight that your group of 5 is in.

COT sword ftw... or the one from BE.

The PVP one is ok... but I went from COT Sword --> LC (for the mace... its too slow imo)--->COT Sword ---> ZA mace.

the S3 one is an upgrade but... I dont want to get an 1800 rating just to have it... though its not that hard.

CoT sword is 121 SD though, S1 is 199. That's pretty significant upgrade in SD. Honestly, I'm finding it way easier to get one or two EotS runs in then getting a group to hit OH. And without more SD (I think I got like 90 atm, 50 from my healing mace /sigh) I think I'd have a tough time in BM (Though my gear is weak too so that isn't going to help).

Though I'll be getting to revered for CoT for the helm ench and the legs anyway....
