This is pretty easy for hunters and there's only one real place you need to be spot on. Don't forget to FD early and often, particularly with tanks that aren't wearing a ton of Kara gear.

When you get Nightmare to about 95%, Attumen himself will appear and the main tank will need to take him. This is where you come in. Healers will already be starting to do that healy goodness and that means they're generating threat. Your job here is to help get that threat where it belongs -- on the tank. Of course, you know by now that you do this with Misdirection.

Here's the part that makes you look really cool like you have godlike reflexes and coordination. You're going to use a macro. Open the macro menu and start a new macro. Here it is:

/cast [target=focus] Misdirection
/assist focus

Simple, eh? It takes a ton of the guesswork and fumbling out of the equation. Personally, I have replaced my regular Misdirection button on my action bar with this macro (you can use the same icon so it's not confusing), as it comes in very handy quite a bit of the time.

Now, on to the fight. Before the fight begins, find out who's going to be tanking Attumen. Target that person and type "/focus" in the chat window. That sets the tank as your focus, so no matter what you're targetting or doing, you can go right back to him at any time.
Then, of course, the moment Attumen pops, you're going to hit the macro. It will target the tank, cast Misdirection on him, and then target the tank's target (which had better be Attumen, yes?). You will then follow up at the moment the global cooldown expires with a Distracting Shot then an Arcane Shot. DO NOT use Aimed Shot here--the goal is to get aggro on the tank fast. Once you get your 3 shots off (an Auto Shot will probably go off in the middle of this rotation), go back to helping the group take Nightmare down.

If you have multiple hunters in the group, make sure only one of you does this at a time. A 2nd MD cast on a target doesn't replace the first, it cancels it. I believe this might be changing with 2.3, however.

Also, if you have multiple hunters in the group, it can be valuable to have the 2nd hunter save the MD for when Attumen mounts up, as the aggro table can reset at that point as well and the tank may need some help there.

Thanks Kermie. Never used the /focus macro yet.

I see that both you and Noc are in for tonight's run. I would urge you guys to form your own chat channel so you can coordinate MD targets, etc without cluttering raid chat. Just type "join ipxhunt" or something like that and you'll have your own channel. I should be on tonight and, should you want an outside consultant, just let me know what the channel name is and I'll join you there.

Kermie this is awesome, thank you! :)

I've never used this before I will definitely try it out tonight. I will want to talk to you beforehand for some advice. I'll be looking for you. :)
